New terms in 2012

Time to say goodbye to another year. I can't believe how fast 2011 has run by, but thank you all for your continued loyalty. I hope you all enjoyed your classes as much as I did.

Dates for the new term are all listed. There will be one or two small changes to some classes, which I will post here. The first change is for my FRIDAY morning people - the first class of term will be 6th January, which will replace the 13th January since I have to be elsewhere that morning. You should all know this anyway - just a reminder!

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas. It just remains for me to wish you all a very Happy New Year, especially to your glutes and abs.....

Autumn term

Please note there will be no classes between Friday 21st and Wednesday 26th October inclusive. Otherwise classes will continue until we break for Christmas on 11 December.

I will be selling jewellery at a number of Christmas fairs in November. The first of these will be on Saturday 5th November in Faringdon Corn Exchange - at the Faringdon babies and toddlers group fundraiser.

Mid-summer term dates

July is here, and for once the weather is even summery. Hope it doesn't get tooooo hot! Dates for next term are now on the class timetable page. I'm taking a day out from teaching to do 6 hours of training workshops before next term starts, so be prepared...

I am hoping to run a small sideline later in the term in home-grown veggies, mainly beans probably. Depends on the weather.

Those of you mums who can't make regular commitments to normal class times are welcome to 'drop in' to occasional classes if you can make it, although please let me know a few hours ahead if possible so I always have enough kit. I generally carry spare mats around in the summer for lesson swapping!

Do enjoy the weather while it lasts.

Here comes summer ...

... even though it is only Easter! For once I am taking a break over Easter, there are just too many Bank Holidays. Next term will start a week early for the Friday lads and lasses since you missed out on Good Friday. All other classes have a standard 8-week term. Except Mondays ... there is another Bank Holiday on May 30th, so you have to miss a week. Sorry.

Enjoy the sunshine and pray for rain, or I will be too busy watering the garden to do any teaching.

New term dates and RNLI Fundraising

March/April term dates

We have a shorter term than normal due to Easter and all its bank holidays. For most people this will be a six week term. Fridays will be five weeks only, but nine weeks next time to make up. Saturdays will also only have five weeks, because I am away on 9th April.

Two new beginners classes start this term:

Monday evening:
18:30 to 19:30 in Little Coxwell Village Hall
Wednesday afternoon:
14:15 to 15:15 in Lechlade Methodist Church Hall

I still have spaces for new beginners on Thursday lunchtimes at the Faringdon Clinic, but the Saturday class is currently full.

RNLI fund-raising

I will be hosting a 'Mad Beaders Tea Party' in the Portwell Angel in Faringdon on Wednesday 23rd March, between 9:30 to 11:30 in the morning. Come along for coffee and cakes (or tea and buns), browse a selection of handmade jewellery, enjoy luxurious hand treatments and help us raise money for the RNLI.

Tuesday 15 February and beginners tasters in March

Remember there are no Tuesday classes on 15 February.

Two beginners taster lessons in March:

Monday 7 March
Little Coxwell Village Hall, 7:45 - 9:00pm
Wednesday 9 March
Lechlade, 3:30 - 5:00pm

Cost £9. Beginners lessons will follow taster sessions, if there is sufficient interest. Max class size is 12 people so booking in advance is essential.
